Care plans

Website care plans explained: what monthly maintenance covers, and what it costs

A website is not finished on launch day. Software ages, security threats change, and your information goes out of date. A care plan is how you keep the site you paid for working.

Why websites break after launch

Most websites run on software that receives regular security updates. Skip them for a year and the site becomes an easy target for automated attacks. Separately, contact forms quietly stop delivering when email settings change, SSL certificates expire, and domains lapse when the renewal reminder goes to someone who has left. Usually nobody notices until enquiries dry up.

What maintenance prevents

  • Security updates applied as they are released, not after something has gone wrong.
  • Weekly backups, stored separately, so a problem costs hours rather than the whole site.
  • Uptime monitoring that tells us your site is down before your visitors do.
  • Form and email checks, so enquiries keep reaching your inbox.
  • Repairs to anything that breaks, included in the monthly fee.

Content updates: the part most organisations need

Many schools and NGOs want news, photos, fees and the calendar kept current, but nobody on staff has time. That is what the update hours in a Growth or Partner plan are for: you send the information by email or WhatsApp, and we publish it.

What Doxah's plans cost

PlanPer monthBest for
Essential$30Sites whose staff post their own updates
Growth$60Schools and NGOs that want 2 hours of updates a month done for them
Partner$100Sites central to admissions or fundraising: 5 hours, 24-hour response, quarterly review

Paying a year in advance saves 10%. Kenyan clients are quoted in shillings. Domain and hosting are paid separately, in your organisation's own name.

How to choose

Ask two questions. First, who will post updates? If your staff will, Essential covers the technical care. If not, choose Growth. Second, how much does the website matter to income? If it drives admissions or donations, Partner's faster response and quarterly review pay for themselves.

What to ask any provider

  • How often are updates and backups done, and where are backups stored?
  • How quickly will you respond if the site goes down?
  • Are the domain and hosting in our name?
  • What happens to our site and data if we stop the plan?
